League recap: Prater overpowering for Woodcrest Christian in past week

Ambassador league recap: 4/3/13

Brett Prater was the best pitcher in Ambassador this week, leading Woodcrest Christian. Over the past week, he had one win and nine Ks.

Ontario Christian had a successful week, as it won four total games to lead the league. The Knights beat Hawthorne 9-0, Valley Christian 9-4, Crean Lutheran 6-3 and Cabrillo 5-2.

Aquinas gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (six), but Calvary Murrieta has surrendered a league-fewest 62 base hits over the entire season.

Ontario Christian had a league-high 13 steals as a team this week, but still trails Linfield Christian, which has 26 on the year, for the season lead.

There were 12 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Nate Van Bruggen, who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.



The Royals' Prater led the league in strikeouts this week with nine. He's second in the league with 28 total strikeouts.

Prater led Woodcrest Christian to a win on March 26, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat Firebaugh, 8-3. Over his seven innings pitched he allowed three runs on five hits.
