Softball Recap: Kentridge's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Kentridge dropped their record down to 13-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 8-3 to the Auburn Riverside Ravens. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ravens earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Genesis Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Naomi Benavides was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Auburn Riverside, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs.

On Auburn Riverside's side, they got a great performance from Kylee Curtis as she pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Hannah Potter was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Seneca Aarstad, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Kentridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburn Riverside, they will square off against Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season.
