Softball Game Preview: Norwood Mustangs vs. Medway Mustangs

Norwood will head out to square off against Medway at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Norwood's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Medway's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Norwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They won by a run and slipped past Hopkinton 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since May 7, 2024.

Kyra Walsh was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddie McKee was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Norwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Medway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to Millis. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mohawks since on Monday.

Norwood now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Medway, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Norwood came up short against Medway when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 8-4. Can Norwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
