Football Game Preview: Ash Grove Pirates vs. Miller Cardinals

The Ash Grove Pirates will square off against the Miller Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Miller will be up against a hot Ash Grove squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 50-27 margin over Pierce City on Friday. Fans of the Pirates have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Miller over Diamond in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cardinals blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 54-14 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cardinals had established a 21-point advantage.

The win got Miller back to even at 2-2. As for Ash Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Ash Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Miller in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 28-22 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
