Basketball Recap: Lincoln Park Academy Comes Up Short

Lincoln Park Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Port St. Lucie Jaguars, falling 64-34. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 65-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Park Academy still got an impressive performance from Geno Ingram, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points. What's more, Ingram also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Port St. Lucie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerek Gabriel, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Graham, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Lincoln Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Port St. Lucie, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Lincoln Park Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-58 win against St. Edward's on the 13th. As for Port St. Lucie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-46 victory against Morningside Academy on the 14th.
