Basketball Game Preview: Peoria Notre Dame Irish vs. Richwoods Knights

The Peoria Notre Dame Irish will head out on the road to face off against the Richwoods Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Peoria Notre Dame is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Peoria just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. The game between them and the Lions didn't end well, with Peoria Notre Dame falling 55-40. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Lions are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Richwoods waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 77-67 win over the Vikings.

Richwoods has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Peoria Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Peoria Notre Dame came up short against Richwoods in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 66-55. Can Peoria Notre Dame avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
