Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Edinburg Wildcats

The Lutheran Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Edinburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lutheran has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Edinburg will arrive with seven straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Lutheran came up short against Lincolnwood and fell 51-44. The match marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Edinburg didn't have too much trouble with Brownstown/St. Elmo on Wednesday as they won 60-45. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly 15 points.

Edinburg's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Edinburg in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 63-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lutheran since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
