Soccer Game Preview: Elk Rapids vs. Oxford

The Elk Rapids Elks will take on the Oxford Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Elk Rapids' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Grayling with a sharp 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for Elk Rapids, who have now won six games by five goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Oxford brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against Novi on Tuesday as they made off with a 5-1 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Oxford as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 4-8-3. As for Elk Rapids, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Elk Rapids might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Oxford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Elks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
