Basketball Game Preview: Millard Eagles vs. Kanab Cowboys

Millard is 2-8 against Kanab since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Millard Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Kanab Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Derk Memmott and Cash Mortensen.

Last Friday, Millard came up short against Enterprise and fell 63-53.

Meanwhile, Kanab had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.9 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They blew past the Mustangs 91-60. The Cowboys' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kanab pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Millard, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Millard might still be hurting after the 65-44 defeat they got from Kanab in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Millard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
