Basketball Game Preview: Southland Academy Raiders vs. Fullington Academy Trojans

The Southland Academy Raiders will take on the Fullington Academy Trojans in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Southland Academy will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Westfield School on Friday. Southland Academy put the hurt on Westfield School with a sharp 64-43 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Raiders have posted against the Hornets since December 14, 2021.

Meanwhile, everything went Fullington Academy's way against John Hancock Academy on Friday as Fullington Academy made off with a 59-39 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Trojans just coasted through the last quarter.

Fullington Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Southland Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Southland Academy strolled past Fullington Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2018 by a score of 52-35. Will Southland Academy repeat their success, or does Fullington Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
