Recap: Pomona Panthers vs. Skyline Falcons
The Pomona Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They secured a 25-20 W over Skyline. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 6 on the offensive boards, as Pomona did.
Kendra Ritzmann was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Valenzuela , who scored 3 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lauren Pratt, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Pomona's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Skyline, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Pomona's road trip will continue as they head out to face Standley Lake at 6:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. As for Skyline, they will play host again and welcome Douglas County, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
