Recap: Bracken Christian Warriors vs. San Juan Diego Catholic Saints
The Bracken Christian Warriors were the 64-43 winner over the San Juan Diego Catholic Saints when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Bracken Christian took a 61-45 bruising from San Juan Diego Catholic on Thursday. Bracken Christian has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Juan Diego Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matteo Papola, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Papola has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armando Garza, who scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals.
Bracken Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-8. As for San Juan Diego Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-12.
Bracken Christian will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Summit Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. Summit Christian Academy is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Bracken Christian will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for San Juan Diego Catholic, they will square off against St. Paul at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 55.46 points so far this season, San Juan Diego Catholic's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so St. Paul better be ready for a challenge.
