Basketball Recap: Gibsonburg Takes a Loss

Gibsonburg played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of the Old Fort Stockaders. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Stockaders are ranked 177th).

Several Golden Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camden Mooney, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Grant Dawson, who had seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Gibsonburg and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Old Fort, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Gibsonburg will host St. Joseph Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gibsonburg is facing St. Joseph Central Catholic at the right time seeing as St. Joseph Central Catholic is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Old Fort, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hopewell-Loudon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Old Fort has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three games.
