Baseball Recap: King Triumphs

King took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Roosevelt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The King Wolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Roosevelt Mustangs 5-4. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Chavez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Diaz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

King's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Roosevelt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

King will have a chance to go back-to-back against Roosevelt: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
