Baseball Recap: Evergreen Park Mustangs vs. Kennedy Crusaders

It's playoff time, and Evergreen Park had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Kennedy Crusaders on Wednesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Yarim Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other pitching news, Michael Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, Rowan Smyth was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
