Baseball Recap: Seminole Has No Trouble Against Oviedo

Seminole's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Oviedo Lions with a sharp 10-4 victory. For the Seminoles, this counts as revenge for the 11-5 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Seminole got a great performance from Blake Manley as he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Manley has posted over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Farrington, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Johnson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Seminole always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Seminole's victory bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Oviedo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Oviedo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-6 loss against Bishop Moore on the 2nd. Hopefully Seminole payed attention to the Lions' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
