Recap: Worth County Rams vs. Cook Hornets
The Worth County Rams lost to the Cook Hornets back in February of 2023, but the Worth County Rams didn't allow the Cook Hornets the same satisfaction on Friday. Worth County snuck past Cook with a 48-44 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Worth County has scored all year.
Worth County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Raymond led the charge by scoring 11 points. Raymond continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was ASHTON WILLIAMS, who scored nine points.
Cook's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reshauld Tippins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Tippins pulled down eight or more rebounds. Keshun McKever was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Worth County and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Cook, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Worth County will face off against Sumter County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter County has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. Cook won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jeff Davis at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Jeff Davis is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game.
