Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Madison Potts and Ella Homan Lead Perkins County to Victory

A well-balanced attack led Perkins County over St. Patrick in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Everything went the Perkins County Plainsmen's way against the St. Patrick's Irish as the Perkins County Plainsmen made off with a 64-38 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Plainsmen had established a 21 point advantage.

Perkins County was led to victory by Ella Homan and Madison Potts. Homan went 7 for 10 on her way to 14 points and three steals, while Potts posted 16 points. Homan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Jacqueline Gloy was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Perkins County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why St. Patrick's lost, don't look at Kinsey Kimberling. Despite the final result, she had 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Baca, who put up six points along with nine boards and three steals.

Perkins County picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for St. Patrick's, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Perkins County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-40 win against Sutherland on the 11th. As for St. Patrick's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-40 victory against Cozad on the 11th.
