Eaglecrest faced Cherokee Trail in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raptors came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 27-14. The victory was familiar territory for the Raptors, who have now won five games in a row.

Cherokee Trail's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Posey, who rushed for 121 yards. Posey was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Rayshon Stanley was another key pass catcher, picking up 36 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Eaglecrest's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Cherokee Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eaglecrest will challenge Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raptors will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Cherokee Trail, they will face off against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Posey and Chris Blanks.
