Volleyball Recap: Orofino Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Orofino lost against Priest River back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Maniacs lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The Maniacs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Orofino took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Orofino saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sofie Beck had 11 digs and one assist. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Beck.

Priest River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Callie Stanger out in front who had 11 digs and two assists. Stanger has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Orofino's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Priest River, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Orofino wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Clearwater Valley on the 11th. As for Priest River, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Grangeville on the 11th.
