Football Recap: Bell Creek Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Donahue Catholic, Bell Creek Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-8 victory over the Riverview Academy Barracudas. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Barracudas are ranked 23rd).

Bell Creek Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Kaine Peterson was the leader with four sacks. Peterson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Kyle Valdes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

With the victory, Bell Creek Academy broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Riverview Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bell Creek Academy will venture away from home to take on The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverview Academy, they will head out to face off against Donahue Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Shamrocks' defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so the Barracudas' offense will have their work cut out for them.
