Baseball Game Preview: Madras White Buffaloes vs. Estacada Rangers

The Madras White Buffaloes will head out on the road to challenge the Estacada Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Madras will be strutting in after a victory while Estacada will be coming in after a loss.

Madras will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Crook County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The White Buffaloes came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 10-7 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the White Buffaloes as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Nakomis Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. James Bird also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Estacada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of The Dalles.

Landon Thomas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Carpenter, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Madras' victory bumped their record up to 4-19. As for Estacada, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12-1.

Madras might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Estacada in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the White Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
