Volleyball Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss

After flying high against Winona on Friday, Quitman came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Malakoff Tigers on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Quitman ultimately came up short, they really made Malakoff work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 27-25.

Quitman dropped their record down to 16-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Malakoff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Quitman will challenge rival Grand Saline at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Malakoff is set to face off against their familiar foe Mineola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
