Football Recap: Trey Jefferson and Gabriel Henry Pace Midland Legacy Defense

Midland Legacy lost against Trinity back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rebels fell 28-16 to the Trojans.

When it comes to explaining why Midland Legacy lost, don't look at Nic Moore. Despite the final result, he rushed for 30 yards and one score, and also picked up 76 receiving yards.

Midland Legacy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trey Jefferson and Gabriel Henry. Jefferson has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Weldon Cooks was another major factor on D, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes.

Midland Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Trinity, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Midland Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 59-13 loss against Lake Travis on the 12th. As for Trinity, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 45-7 victory against Keller Central on the 12th.
