Football Recap: Wilkinson County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wilkinson County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amite County Trojans. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 20-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Amite County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games.

Leading Amite County to victory were Marquavius McGhee and Kemauri Thompson. McGhee rushed for 81 yards and one score, while Thompson rushed for 74 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Coincidentally, Wilkinson County and Amite County will both be playing Wesson the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
