Preview: Halifax Academy Vikings vs. Thales Academy Rolesville Knights
The Halifax Academy Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Halifax Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Last Monday, Halifax Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to Ridgecroft. While losing is never fun, Halifax Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while Ridgecroft is ranked 218th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Thad Harris, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Boone, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Thales Academy Rolesville's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 39-24 victory over Wilson Christian Academy. The victory was just what Thales Academy Rolesville needed coming off of a 64-38 defeat in their prior game.
Thales Academy Rolesville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malcolm Foster , who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malachi Fischer , who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Halifax Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
