Baseball Recap: Lake Cormorant Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Lake Cormorant was forced to take a big defeat against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They never let the Olive Branch Conquistadors get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Lake Cormorant not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th (when they won 11-1).

Not much got past Brayden Moberly, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Olive Branch off the board. Moberly also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lake Cormorant is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Tyler Stevens and Walker Wixon did most of the damage at the plate: Stevens went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Wixon went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Lake Cormorant is undefeated when Stevens posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise. Derrin Randle was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Lake Cormorant's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Olive Branch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Lake Cormorant nor Olive Branch have any future games scheduled.
