Baseball Recap: Tulare Union Takes a Loss

Tulare Union managed to slip by Tulare Western the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tribe lost 6-0 to the Mustangs on Monday. Considering the last time the Tribe couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Roman Leal was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tulare Union saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Stevenson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases. Stevenson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Tulare Union has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19-1 record this season. As for Tulare Western, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12-1.

As of now, neither Tulare Union nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
