Basketball Recap: Duchesne Comes Up Short

Duchesne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sumner Bulldogs. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Duchesne's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sumner, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Duchesne will challenge St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Duchesne has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Sumner, they will take on Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumner has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
