Basketball Recap: Rockford Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

On FridayRockford's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged the Hawley Nuggets out 67-65. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Nuggets are ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rockford pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hawley, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Rockford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holy Family Catholic at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Rockford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Hawley, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Spectrum at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spectrum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Hawley likes a good challenge.
