Basketball Game Preview: Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks vs. Grace Christian School Kings

The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Grace Christian School Kings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miller School of Albemarle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Miller School of Albemarle got the win against Roanoke Catholic by a conclusive 82-58. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Miller School of Albemarle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Hairston led the charge by going 7 of 8 en route to 19 points and six assists. Hairston is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shane Crissman, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points.

Hairston wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Miller School of Albemarle was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian School came up short against The Carmel School on Monday and fell 84-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (65), the Kings still had to take the loss.

Miller School of Albemarle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Grace Christian School, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
