Volleyball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Cedar Mountain Cougars. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-12.

Kendall Krueger paced Springfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Krueger got some help from Sophie Mude and her eight assists. Finally, Gabriella Schenk kept Springfield's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cedar Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season.

Springfield will take on Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Mountain, they will be playing at home against Lester Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
