Game recap

Briar Woods (Ashburn, Va.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Dominion (Sterling, Va.), 41-7, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Trace McSorley touchdown run in the first quarter, the Falcons led 27-7 at the half.

Briar Woods expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. BW scored two times in the third, including once on a Chris Larco touchdown run.

McSorley played well for the Ashburn school in the victory. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

The Titans' lone touchdown came on a 21-yard pass in the first quarter.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Falcons came away with a 48-0 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Dominion, which notched a 34-28 victory over Heritage in its previous outing. With the win Briar Woods extended its winning streak to four games.

Briar Woods (4-0) goes up against Potomac Falls in a AA Dulles game matchup next week, while Dominion (1-2) locks horns with Woodgrove also in a AA Dulles game.
