            Football Recap: Eustis Panthers vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes        
        
		
        
        
            Eustis was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight  defeat. They lost to the Mount Dora Hurricanes on the road  by a   30-14 margin. The Panthers lost against the Hurricanes in their previous head to head  back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the  56-14 score last time.
  Tymir Gaines produced another solid  performance rushing for 147 yards and two  scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 60 receiving yards for Mount Dora. With that strong performance,  Gaines is now averaging an impressive 103.9  rushing yards per game.
Eustis' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mount Dora, their  win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Eustis will venture away from home to  face off against Oviedo  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount Dora, they will head out to  take on The Villages Charter  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Buffalo's defense has only allowed 9.7  points per game  this season, so the Hurricanes' offense will have their work cut out for them.
