Volleyball Recap: Elgin Comets vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles
If Elgin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mt. Gilead on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Comets fell just short of the Colonel Crawford Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Elgin actually scored more points across those five sets (108-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 20-18.
Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Colonel Crawford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Hardin Northern at 6:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Colonel Crawford, they will host Western Reserve at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
