Volleyball Recap: Jovie Meeker and Ayla Raynor Secure Win for Dover

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Dover walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bishop Guertin Cardinals on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Monday.

Leading Dover to victory were Ayla Raynor and Jovie Meeker. Raynor had ten digs and five aces, while Meeker had 14 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Raynor has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Dover was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Dover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Bishop Guertin, they moved to 16-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

As of now, neither Dover nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
