Football Recap: Sardis Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sardis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The matchup between the Lions and the Douglas Eagles didn't end well, with the Lions falling 35-21. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Grant Coe threw for 190 yards and two TDs. Lamont Richardson was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Levi Martin rushed for 104 yards.

Douglas found their leader in sophomore Keilan Green, who rushed for 175 yards and one score while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Green is now averaging an impressive 108.3 rushing yards per game.

Sardis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Douglas, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3.

Sardis has already played their next game, a 41-39 loss against Fairview on the 17th. As for Douglas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-22 win against Brewer on the 17th.
