Basketball Game Preview: Jasper Pirates vs. Blevins Hornets

The Jasper Pirates will face off against the Blevins Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Jasper heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Saturday. They fell just short of County Line by a score of 66-63. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blevins). They breezed past Ouachita to the tune of 99-51 back in February. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Blevins is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.4 points over those games. Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 32-8.
