Baseball Recap: Rocklin Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rocklin had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Roseville Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Rocklin got a good showing from Joey Lorenzini, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, Lorenzini gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Rocklin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ahren Verma, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

The win got Roseville back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Rocklin will challenge Rodriguez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roseville, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Vanden at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
