Baseball Recap: New Site Triumphs

While New Site didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Bruce Trojans on Monday. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by just one run.

Rilyn Lambert was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Weston Maxey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

New Site's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 5.4 in the others. As for Bruce, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

New Site will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bruce: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
