Basketball Recap: River Valley Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

River Valley entered their matchup against Lancaster on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The River Valley Blackhawks received a blow as they fell 72-54 to the Lancaster Flying Arrows. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Flying Arrows are ranked 117th).

River Valley's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-10. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

River Valley will square off against Richland Center at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Lancaster, they will venture away from home to square off against Mineral Point at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lancaster knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Mineral Point likes a good challenge.
