Soccer Game Preview: Royse City vs. Rockwall

The Royse City Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Tuesday, Royse City didn't have quite enough to beat Rockwall-Heath and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Hawks are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, Rockwall entered their tilt with Tyler Legacy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 1-0 shutout.

This is the second loss in a row for Royse City and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Rockwall, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Royse City came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockwall in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Royse City since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
