Basketball Recap: Butte Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Butte Central Catholic came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Bigfork Vikings & Valkyries 51-24. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Vikings & Valkyries are ranked 27th).

Butte Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bigfork, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Coming up, Butte Central Catholic and Ronan will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Bigfork, they and Beaverhead County will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Beaverhead County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Bigfork likes a good challenge.
