After flying high against Capital City on Thursday, Jefferson City came back down to earth. The Jays fell 2-0 to the Smithville Warriors on Saturday. The Jays' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Leah Heisler paced Jefferson City's offense, picking up four kills. Heisler got some help from Landrie Vogt and her 11 assists. Vogt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Jefferson City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Smithville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Jefferson City has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Central on the 20th. As for Smithville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Oak Park on the 20th.
