Soccer Recap: Akins Comes Up Short

Akins lost against Lake Travis back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Akins Eagles fell 3-1 to the Lake Travis Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 39th).

Akins' loss dropped their record down to 5-12-2. As for Lake Travis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1.

Looking ahead, Akins will head out on the road to take on Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Travis, they will take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Travis is facing Austin at the right time seeing as Austin is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
