Volleyball Recap: Herrin Triumphs

Herrin saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Charleston Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Evaley Collier paced Herrin's offense, picking up 11 kills. Collier got some help from Emery Skaggs and her 13 assists. Finally, Collier was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Charleston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Avery Beals, who had 18 digs, and Charlie Milton, who had five digs and one block. Beals is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Herrin's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Charleston, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Herrin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Carbondale on the 6th. As for Charleston, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Chester on the 6th.
