Basketball Recap: Chilton Comes Up Short

Chilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-20 loss at the hands of the China Spring Cougars. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in November of 2014.

When it comes to explaining why Chilton lost, don't look at Mariyah Suiters. Despite the final result, she posted nine points in addition to five boards and five steals. Suiters is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kureston Huitt, who had three points.

Chilton now has a losing record at 7-8. As for China Spring, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Chilton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 39-12 defeat against Slidell on the 27th. As for China Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-24 victory against Anderson-Shiro on the 27th.
