Two dominant signal callers in Jaden Jefferson and Joseph Mesa are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cathedral Phantoms are taking a road trip to take on the Paraclete Spirits at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Cathedral humbled Bishop Alemany with a 41-13 victory. Given the Phantoms' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Warriors are ranked 320th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Cathedral's victory came down to the chemistry between Quentin Hale and his top target Brian Prince. Hale picked up 110 receiving yards and one TD while Prince picked up 53 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Paraclete entered their tilt with St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 38-29 win over the Warriors.

Paraclete found their leader in sophomore Kyle Fulton Jr, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 49 receiving yards.

Cathedral's record is now 3-4. As for Paraclete, their record now sits at 6-1.

Cathedral beat Paraclete 41-30 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phantoms since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
