Garden Valley dropped their record down to 12-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell 11-8 to the Idaho City Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 back in April.

Avery Simpson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Emma Shannahan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Idaho City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.6 runs over those games.

On Idaho City's side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Vigeant, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Taylor Helmick, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run.

Garden Valley has already played their next game, a 26-14 win against Notus on the 9th. As for Idaho City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-8 defeat against Wilder on the 9th.
