After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stratford, Academic Magnet was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils. The Raptors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sophia Benich had an outrageously good game as she posted 18 points and five steals. Maddison Logan was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 10 points.

Academic Magnet smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Academic Magnet's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Charleston Collegiate, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will face off against Andrews at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Academic Magnet is facing Andrews at the right time seeing as Andrews is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Charleston Collegiate, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Curtis Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on January 21st.
